Fretz® MA-3 Mushroom Stake

This Fretz® mushroom stake features a mid-range curve that is ideal for shapes that require a substantial curvature, but don’t need the sharp curve provided by a high-dome stake. As well as being used as a traditional stake, this tool can be used as a mallet—lay the metal on a soft surface such as a leather sand bag to quickly and easily form a cupped shape. Stakes provide a surface under (or inside) the metal that enhances the work of the hammer in creating a wide variety of curves, folds and shapes. Choose stakes with surface features that allow you to create the forms you want. Made of hardened stainless steel, this stake is great for forming or forging non-ferrous metal jewelry and hollowware. This rugged tool can be used with either light or heavy forming hammers.
