Fretz® Tracing Repoussé and Chasing Tool

Fretz® Tracing Repoussé and Chasing Tool

Perform a wide range of hand-wrought metal shaping and forming tasks with this quality-made, hardened tool-steel punch from Fretz® Tools. This Fretz T-1 tool is designed for tracing straight or curved lines into metal and for refining fine fluting using embossing (chasing) techniques. The shank of the tool is squared-off and matte-finished with a 90° twist at the end, providing a secure, slip-free grip while working. The tip of the tool is highly polished with a mirror finish to form without marring the metal surface. Tracing tools feature rounded but wedge-like tips and are used to draw or refine lines, shapes and lettering. The wedge area may be straight, used for tracing straight lines, or curved, used for tracing curved lines or lines on curved surfaces. The tool impression will leave a concave mark on the side directly struck and a domed line on the reverse side. Created by expert metalsmith and tool designer Bill Fretz and manufactured for the professional jeweler, the Fretz® line of chasing tools supports your best work with excellent ergonomics and precisely ground and polished surfaces. Each is made from the finest materials for high-quality, repeatable results, maximum durability and long service life.
