Legor® Ultrablack Ruthenium Plating Solution, Acid-Based
Where most black ruthenium solutions achieve a dark gray color at best, this two-part solution from Legor® delivers a high-gloss, moonless-midnight black color. The ruthenium solution (part A) and the blackening powder (part B) work together, with additions of heavy organic additives, to oxidize the ruthenium as it is deposited to produce the deep, dark color. Ideal for decorative plating when a deep black color as well as corrosion resistance is needed. Because the conductivity of ruthenium is lower than other precious metals, the metal concentration must be higher to ensure the necessary deposition. The formula is completely free of arsenic, both in the metal deposited and in the solution itself. This one-liter bottle contains 5 grams of ruthenium.
