Use this borax bar to create a flux slurry that you apply to protect senstive areas of your workpiece against heat as you solder. Use a shallow, rough-finished bowl (such as ceramic), add a few to several drops of distilled water, then rub the bar carefully but vigorously against the ceramic until you produce a pastelike slurry.
