This Fretz® Jeweler's embossing hammer is scaled down from the larger Silversmith version, and is ideal for precise, intricate metal work, for making custom bezels and creating small vessel forms. This hammer can produce dramatic texturing on flat metal; work pieces from the back or inside to create raised, three-dimensional designs and forms, a technique also known as repoussé. Designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz, this hammer is built for toughness and durability. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it’s specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
