Fretz® MA-4 High-Dome Mushroom Stake
This Fretz® high-dome mushroom stake features a half-round dome that is ideal for creating dramatic curves on large surfaces, and for creating a noticeable curve on a small surface. Use this stake to raise small round or freeform shapes with a nylon or steel raising hammer; this technique is more efficient than angle-raising the metal. Stakes provide a surface under (or inside) the metal that enhances the work of the hammer in creating a wide variety of curves, folds and shapes. Choose stakes with surface features that allow you to create the forms you want. Made of hardened stainless steel, this stake is great for forming or forging non-ferrous metal jewelry and hollowware. This rugged tool can be used with either light or heavy forming hammers.
